This year Gwendolyn and Lit Webinar will do a deep dive into several iconic stories by D.H. Lawrence. Known for his emphasis on the senses, which he called “Blood-consciousness”, D.H. prioritized bodily experience over intellectualism, believing physical, instinctual awareness allowed for a truer understanding of life. Among the stories we will read and discuss in this three part series are “The Blind Man,” “The Odor of Chrysanthemums,” and “Rocking Horse Winner.”
On August 6th Gwendolyn and the group will focus on D.H. Lawrence's “Blood Consciousness Theory” with two stories that portray his love of all things sensual: “The Blind Man” and “Sun.” See below for the links to both stories.
