The Mentoring Committee invites you to learn more about reaching and teaching from both sides of the relationship. This session will be of particular interest to UWC members who would like to share their language (English or Castellano) with other members who would like to practice or learn a second language. However, all members are welcome to come learn about sharing expertise.

RSVP here to Susana and please indicate whether you’d like to be a mentor or a mentee or both (or neither) and which language you’d like to share in any specified role. Please also indicate which neighborhood you live in so that, in advance of the meeting, we can pair you with another member who lives close to you.

After you RSVP, you will review this link to a video that describes a suggested structure for mentoring. We will talk about this structure, including: 1) building rapport, 2) setting objectives and goals, 3) creating action plans or meeting dates, 4) offering feedback, and more. Not all of the specifics in this video are applicable to our first Reaching/Teaching project but the basic structure could be useful. We will discuss it.
